Kevin: Orient Your Compass (62 minutes)
1h 2m
Compass Pose (vishvamitrasana) is classically taught as an arm balance, but there are tons of other variations of the pose's basic archetype. In addition to deep understanding of how your hips function, this posture requires length and strength through the sides of the body. In particular, you must learn how to orient your side waist and inner thigh in such a way that they actually fully connect with one another.
This class is a tight hourlong practice that guides you into a variation of the pose performed with the back knee down which is more accessible for more yogis. You can of course do any variation you like. It's super helpful to have a block and a blanket handy for class, but it's possible to get through with no props if you prefer. Please reach out if you have questions along the way.
