In a forward fold, we often feel compressed and cramped, with the abdomen collapsing down on top of the legs. In this class, we explore how the actions of the arms and the legs, along with the movement of the breath, can create a feeling of inner expansion even as the outer shell of the body folds inward on itself. We move slow and try to open up the major places that can get stuck when we attempt forward folding postures.
In terms of props, make sure you have a strap or something similar. Two blocks, along with a couple blankets, a bolster, or a pillow will be useful for many folks, especially those who are tighter in the backs of the legs.
