There are a lot of important actions in play in the development of a backbend. This particular class looks at how properly engage the muscles of the thoracic spine (upper back) to support the opening of the chest and the length of the neck. It's a great sequence for anyone who occasionally (or constantly) suffers from tight shoulders and/or neck discomfort in yoga.
